"Things recruiting-wise have been going pretty well so far," Tyler Blum said. "I have offers from Iowa and Iowa State, and I'm also getting hand-written mail from several schools as well."
"Iowa and Iowa State send hand-written mail. I've also been getting hand-written mail from Notre Dame, Kansas State, Nebraska and Kansas. Over the last few weeks I've gotten mail and questionnaires from Oklahoma, Michigan and Colorado."
Blum will have a busy season on the baseball diamond this summer, and will Blum be able to hit any college camps this summer? "I did the football college camp tour last summer, and I was glad that I camped last year, otherwise I might not have my two early offers that I have now. With baseball as a summer sport in Iowa, it's pretty doubtful that I'll camp anywhere this summer."
Blum, who has attended spring events at both Iowa and Iowa State, has two clear favorites. "No question, I like both Iowa and Iowa State at this point and they are my top two favorites. Both schools have a lot to offer both athletically and academically, and I'm really happy to have offers from both in-state schools."
Could Blum be eventually making an early college choice? "As far as making any decisions, I might make my decision before the start of my senior season, then again I might take my time. I want to see how things play itself out in the recruiting process first before I decide anything. I want to look at all of my options before I decide on a college."
