TCU, Wisconsin lead for Texas RB

Two-star running back Michael Rutledge of Sugar Land (Texas) Kempner is starting to move up the recruiting charts and for a good reason. The 5-foot-10, 180-pound running back has rushed for 860 yards this season and is averaging 4.6 yards a carry.
That’s good enough to get weekly calls from Wisconsin, TCU, Utah State, Rice, North Texas and UTEP. He still doesn’t have any offers yet, but he is close to setting up official visits with Wisconsin and TCU.

“Those two are my top two teams,” Rutledge said. “I’m going to visit them for sure. Wisconsin is a great football program with a lot of great tradition. They’re also well known for their academics, and academics are why I’m going to school.
“TCU is 8-0 and that’s a really big deal. I’m not going to make my decision based on record, but to be classified with Miami and Oklahoma is really good and shows you where the program is at.”
Rutledge said he’s not sure about any other visits at this point and is working on dates with both the Badgers and Horned Frogs.
