TCU, LSU offer Texas safety

When it comes to blue-chip defensive backs in the state of Texas, Euless (Texas) Trinity safety Desmond Williams is near the top of the list and now he’s got his first two offers to prove it.
“LSU and TCU have offered me,” Williams said. “Those two offers came on the same day. It was a good day.”

Indeed it was for the 6-foot-1, 200-pound Williams. Williams said he’s still open to many teams, but getting those early offers has allowed him to explore his interest in the Frogs and Tigers.
“I’m really interested in both of them,” he said. “LSU is a great offer. I love Louisiana. I used to go down there with my dad all the time. I don’t know a lot about the team itself, but I know enough to know that an offer from them is really good.”
What about TCU’s offer?
“It’s close to home and all the coaches say that I could be a great defensive player in their scheme,” he said.
Williams has also received calls from Nebraska and Colorado. He said Oklahoma has also been by the school and he’s expecting a call from the Sooners, too, soon.
“Nebraska called me last Thursday,” he said. “They were just talking about how they wanted to get to know me more. And when Colorado called, I really didn’t talk to them too much.
“Oklahoma came by the school and told my coach that they’re really going to recruit me hard and that I can expect an offer soon.”
