Taylor has short list of favorites

Helix (Calif.) is always good for one or two high level Div I recruits every year and next year's top player will be defensive back Jamar Taylor. Taylor has three offers on the table and will visit one of those schools next week.
It's a strong year for corners out West next year and Taylor is one of the best in the region. He earned all-league honors as a junior after totaling 65 tackles and three picks and his combination of size, speed and 3.8 GPA has schools from all over watching him closely.

On the recruiting front, Taylor has offers from San Diego State, Colorado State and Utah and is hearing from a host of other schools.
"A lot of schools wanted me to camp with them but I could only do a few local ones," Taylor said. "Then I have a few schools saying they just want to see me on the field as a senior before they offer.
"In addition to the schools that offered, I'm hearing from Oregon, Boise State, Northwestern, USC, UCLA, Notre Dame and Washington State. I camped at USC and UCLA and was going to camp with Notre Dame but I pulled my hamstring at the USC camp and wasn't able to make it.
"I liked both camps a lot, they were different but still a lot of fun. The coaches at USC are so high energy and they really get you pumped up to play. At UCLA, the camp was more laid back but I learned a lot from the coaches there as well.
"I'm going to camp at Colorado State next week. They've already offered but I want to go and see the school up close and see how I mesh with the coaches there.
"I want to try and take all my official visits if I can before I commit anywhere. Oregon, Boise State and Utah are a few of the schools I want to visit but I haven't set any dates yet."
