"I just talked to Sione a few minutes ago," Damien athletic director Pohai Lee said.
"He said he liked the trip. I asked him to rank the schools after some visits and he said Arizona was No. 1, ahead of Colorado and Arizona State, but he didn't mention anything about committing.
"I sure hope he would tell us if he had committed, because it would be a big deal around here. He didn't say a thing about it."
Tau, who is 6-foot-6 and 284 pounds, is ranked as the No. 3 player in Hawaii and the No. 31 offensive tackle in America by Rivals.com.
He visited Arizona this past weekend and was slated to visit San Diego State on Dec. 8.
He visited Arizona State back on Nov. 17 and Colorado back in mid-September.
