Tate has a leader

While his teammate, Terrance Toliver, picks up scholarship offers left and right, his teammate Chris Tate is getting close to joining the club.
Nothing has come yet in the way of offers, but a few teams have definitely shown interest in the 5-foot-11, 170-pounder. One Big 12 team, his current leader, is giving him the impression that he's close.

"I was text messaging the coaches from Baylor and they were telling me that they just got done watching my film," Tate said. "They were going to get in touch me about an offer."
The Bears are his top team right now for several reasons.
"One, I just like Baylor," Tate said. "The environment is good and it's a great place to get an education. I'm thinking I'll go there for a camp and then also Texas A&M and Texas."
As for when he'll decide, that's up in the air.
"I don't know yet," he said. "I haven't thought that far ahead."
The NIKE Training Camp was already an impressive outing from Tate who posted a 40-yard dash time in the 4.5-second range and did very well during one-on-ones. It's even more impressive that he fought through injury to do it.
"We had a district track meet the week before and I was pretty tight in my legs," Tate said. "I could barely run sometimes, but I thought I did okay."
