Tarvis Scotts recruiting taking shape

Adairsville (Ga.) wide receiver Tarvis Scott had been focusing on his team’s season throughout the early recruiting period. Now, with his senior campaign over, his recruiting is starting to take shape.
“I’ve been talking with Louisville, Jackson State, MTSU (Middle Tennessee State), ETSU (East Tennessee State) and Tennessee,” Scott said. “I have offers from all those places except UT (Tennessee). I really like all of them, I’m just not sure where I want to go.”

Scott knows he will have to distinguish between the schools eventually, and said that visits and five self-appointed determinants will help him decide on a school.
“I’m going to be setting up official visits soon,” he said. “When I go somewhere, I’m going to be looking at its location, coaching staff, atmosphere, game plan of the coaches and education. I want to see what all those places have at that.”
The Adairsville wideout said that his improvement over the season was one of his strengths, and time at a new position could give him versatility in college.
“I played some at wide receiver, some at tight end,” Scott said. “I’ll play either in college, whatever schools want me to do. I had 30 catches for like 530 yards, and I had over 600 total yards this year. Since we don’t throw the ball much, those are pretty solid numbers. I had some unbelievable catches, and I think I improved a lot, did my best to help the team.
“I’m an aggressive player, and I go out with the mentality that I go get the ball. I don’t let no one beat me to it, I go get it.”
Scott earned all-area honors as a junior, and was also the state champion at the high jump. He is seen as both a wide receiver and tight end prospect because he is 6-foot-5 and weighs approximately 200 pounds.
