Pensacola (Fla.) Escambia jumbo athlete Stanley Tart started the summer with just one offer, but hopes to change that by hitting the road and participating in camps.
"I have an offer from FIU," Tart said. "I am being recruited by Southern Miss, Syracuse, Kentucky, and a few others."
The 6-foot-4, 230-pound prospect recently camped with a Conference USA program.
"I recently did Southern Miss' camp," Tart said. "They have a good program going on. I ran a lot of drills, they put me through a lot at tight end. It was pretty intense. The coaches were great. They talked with me a lot. They have a great thing going on over there."
According to Tart, it is just a matter of time before Larry Fedora and his staff extend an offer.
"They pretty much said they were going to offer me," Tart said. "They write me and I call them. They have told me they are only offering one tight end for this upcoming class. They don't want to make any mistakes. The way he was talking though, it pretty much indicated that I should expect an offer at any time. I was talking with Coach (Blake) Anderson."
Tart indicated he hopes to camp at Alabama, Kentucky, Miami, Troy, and others this summer. While on those campuses, he isn't particular about where he lines up and works out at as he is willing to showcase his abilities in a variety of ways.
"Some of them are looking at me as a defensive end, a linebacker, and as a tight end," Tart said. "FIU and Southern Miss like me at tight end though."
"It doesn't matter to me," Tart added. "I just want to play college football."
With no timeline for making a decision, the Panhandle prospect said he is just trying to find the right fit. When he finds that, he will be prepared to pledge his services.
"I want a school with a good weight room and tradition in their program," Tart said. "Academics are also important."
