Tarrent hoping for Spartan offer

Two-a-days start on August 3rd in Ohio. Several of the state's top football players are done with prospect camps, and are turning their attention to their senior seasons.
Toledo (OH) Central Catholic defensive end Jamaal Tarrent camped at Ohio State, Michigan State, Western Michigan, Toledo, Bowling Green, and Akron this summer. He hopes a great start to his senior year will lure in an offer from East Lansing.

"I really like Michigan State," Tarrent said. "They are high up there on my list. If they offer I would really consider committing. I like the campus when I went for camp. There was some great competition there."
Tarrent has an offer from Akron. He said Michigan State, Indiana, Purdue, Northwestern, Iowa, and several MAC schools are waiting to see more film before they offer.
"The Michigan State coaches called my coach right after I got home from their camp," Tarrent said. "They said they want to see if I have a good motor during the games. If they like my motor, they will more than likely offer me. That is the story with pretty much every school recruiting me right now. They want to see the first four games of my senior year. That is plenty of incentive for me to play hard."
Tarrent learned more about Akron's program as well.
"I went there for a camp as well and I liked it. They are building new dorms for the athletes. We toured campus. It was good."
Central Catholic opens the 2009 season at Bowling Green High School on Friday, August 28th.
