Tar Heels counter Pack with commitment

NC State received a commitment from defensive tackle DeMarcus Tyler today, but the North Carolina staff got some good news of their own.
"I decided to commit to North Carolina," said Washington (D.C.) Gonzaga linebacker Kory Gedin. "I told the UNC coaches today and I need to talk to the coaches at Boston College. UNC was just a better fit."

Gedin, a 6-foot-2, 233-pound inside linebacker, chose the Tar Heels for many reasons.
"I could picture myself playing at either UNC or Boston College, but I decided that UNC was close enough to home so I could watch my young siblings grow up and still get away to go to school," he said. "Distance really played a part. I felt I just wanted to stay closer. I really liked both schools a lot, so it was hard."
Gedin has a younger brother who is nine years old and sisters who are six and two respectively. He'll play middle linebacker in college.
