ATLANTA – Marcus Jenkins has options.
The Alabama-based sophomore has offers from both major in-state programs to go with a number of other major schools. What he doesn’t have, however, is a leader or any sense of a frontrunner.
The comforting thing for him is that he has plenty of time to narrow his list. A four-star defensive tackle known as Tank, Jenkins recently visited Georgia.
IN HIS WORDS
On his timeline: “I’ll probably just wait until I’m a senior to pick. I’ll wait at least that long. I want to know it’s over when I say it’s over.”
One his list: “The schools that are most involved with me, for now, are Auburn, Arkansas, Georgia and South Carolina."
On the Georgia trip: “I just left there (Saturday). I liked it. I liked what I saw there a lot. My other visits aren’t set yet; they’ll probably just pop up.”
RIVALS' REACTION
Jenkins’ recruitment is nowhere near its end. That said, prying a player like him out of Alabama is always a tall task.
Auburn has to be seen as an early favorite. Alabama could get more involved if it decides to push. There’s no telling where Jenkins will land at this early juncture, as Georgia, Arkansas, South Carolina and others remain in the mix.
