IN HIS OWN WORDS…

"I picked Texas A&M because I really like the coaches there," Johnson said. "My former teammate Aaron Hansford is there so I have somebody else to look out for me. I really like the defensive coaching staff. The defensive line coach and I have a really good relationship. I just fell in love with the place.

"I felt how much they wanted me with they way they were around me all the time when I was there," he said. "They didn't leave my side and treated me like a priority. I just liked it and felt at home.

"When I got down there I got to meet a couple of the players and they just treated me like I was one of their own," said Johnson. "I felt like I was already going there."

RIVALS' REACTION

Texas A&M has a history of developing big time defensive ends and Johnson has the physical tools to turn into an impact player for the Aggies. There is a lot of room to fill out his 6-foot-4 frame and he has the quickness to give any offensive tackle problems. The coaching staff in College Station has proven that they know how to teach defensive ends how to be productive and impact the game in a number of way.
