Speedy Tampa (Fla.) Chamberlin wide receiver Edner Alcin has a vast array of Division I-A programs interested in his services. He is wide-open at the moment, but is hopeful that an offer from an in-state power shakes things up.
"I am on hold with Miami (Fla.)," Alcin said. "They told me they have about four wide receivers ahead of me on their board."
The 6-foot, 164-pound Alcin has scholarship offers from West Virginia, Central Florida, South Florida. Connecticut, Akron, Ohio and Bowling Green.
He does not currently have any favorites.
"I haven't gone on any of my official visits," Alcin said.
Aclin, who ran a 4.44 40-yard dash at the Tallahassee NIKE camp in May, plans to visit West Virginia either the weekend of Jan. 13 or Jan. 20. He will take a mid-week visit to Central Florida on Jan. 22.
Wide receivers coach Butch Jones is recruiting Alcin for West Virginia. Miles Aldridge is Alcin's recruiter of record from UCF.
He caught 35 passes for more than 500 yards and five touchdowns this season as Chamberlin went 8-4.
