Tampa sleeper waking up

Tampa (Fla.) Chamberlin wide receiver Edner Alcin did not play his junior year due to injury. However, the Tallahassee NIKE camp helped put his name on the map, where he tested off the charts and out performed several highly ranked prospects.
"I haven't picked up any new offers lately," Alcin said. "Iowa State, South Florida, Rutgers and Akron are my offers right now. Florida told me back in the spring that they were real interested, but since I didn't play last year I didn't have film to give them. I think they are going to try to come and watch me play this year."

Alcin attended the NIKE camp in Tallahassee in May where he ran the second fastest 40-yard dash time among wide receivers at 4.44 seconds.
"Right now Florida, Miami, South Florida, Pittsburgh and Iowa State are my top teams at this point," Alcin said. "I really like Florida a lot and I want them to offer real bad. Iowa, Middle Tennessee State and South Florida all sent me tickes to their games this week. I will probably go to South Florida because that's the only one I can make."
The 6-foot-0, 164-pound Alcin caught one pass in his spring game for 48 yards and a touchdown. At the NIKE camp he also posted a 32-inch vertical jump.
"I'm not really planning on making a decision right now," Alcin said. "I guess you never know, I will do it whenever it feels right, but I would like to take visits and stuff like that first."
