Tampa DT going South for the weekend

Tampa (Fla.) Hillsborough defensive tackle Leslie Stirrups is one of the most dominant defensive players in the Sunshine State. He has collected over a dozen offers thus far and has drawn the attention of quite a few other recruiters from across the country.
"Right now I have offers from Florida, Michigan, Iowa State, Nebraska, Minnesota, Troy State, South Florida, UConn, Florida State, Tennessee and Oklahoma I know for sure," Stirrups said. "Right now I don't have offers from Georgia or Miami, but this weekend I am going to camp at Miami and I am hoping to get an offer."

The 6-foot-2, 274-pound Stirrups attended the Miami NIKE camp where he posted a 5.16 second 40-yard dash time, had a 4.94 second shuttle, a 25-inch vertical jump and did 15 reps on the bench press.
"I have been up to visit Florida already and I really liked it up there," Stirrups said. "It is a place where you definitely can feel comfortable. I really liked the coaches and they make it like a family environment up there and you feel like you can fit in."
As a junior he collected 56 tackles and six sacks. He is ranked as the No. 15 player in the state of Florida by Rivals.com.
"I feel honored that out of all the guys in Florida, I ranked at No. 15," Stirrups said. "You would always like to be higher and all, but I know there are a lot of good players. I am just going to keep working hard and try to crack the top ten."
Stirrups lists Florida as his leader, but several other schools are nipping at the heels of the Gators.
"Florida is my leader, but if Miami were to offer then they might would pull even," Stirrups said. "I really like Georgia, LSU, Tennessee, Florida State and South Florida too. I am still just trying to narrow things down right now."
