Two weeks ago, Tampa (Fla.) Sickles athlete RayRay McCloud was in Gainesville for the Florida-Tennessee SEC battle. McCloud III participated in the Gators' Friday Night Lights camp, but this was his first trip to "The Swamp" for a game.
What "It was great. I was watching Vernon Hargreaves and the defense," McCloud III said. "I was with Coach Rob (Travaris Robinson) and Coach (Brian) White for a little bit and met up with Coach (Derek) Lewis when I got there. Coach T-Rob is one of the best coaches I've met so far. He knows how to relate to young kids."
Last week, South Carolina came by the school and offered the dynamic athlete. G.A. Mangus is recruiting McCloud III for the Gamecocks.
"It was a big offer," McCloud III said. "It was right before the game. It's kind of far, but I may try to go visit them sometime this year."
Of his early list of offers, the four-star said Clemson, Florida, Kentucky, and Ole Miss are standing out the most. The Tigers noticed him before he burst on the recruiting scene.
"I talked to Artavis Scott and he really likes it up there," McCloud III said. "Since my freshman year that was my first big school to reach out and Coach (Tony) Elliot was on my hard and I really respect him."
Later this fall, the Rivals250 to Watch athlete has plans to check out Clemson and Georgia to see his cousin Ramik Wilson.
