Tampa-area wideout already making a name for himself
THE LATEST: Gregory Gaines III is a class-of-2022 prospect but his name is already becoming a familiar one in college recruiting offices all over the Southeast. The 6-foot-1 underclassman receiver will likely have a long list of offers by the times recruitment comes to a close, but a handful of programs have already made things official. Below, Gaines discusses current leader Florida State and the schools that could push the Seminoles.
IN HIS WORDS:
ON HIS LEADER:
"It’s Florida State right now."
ON FLORIDA STATE:
"I like the community there, to be honest. I like the people. I like coaches. Then, there are a lot of people I know personally that have gone there and had a good time there — a good experience."
ON WHO HE KNOWS AT FSU:
"I know Warren Thompson from Armnwood. I know Treshaun Ward, too. They tell me they like it."
ON OFFERS HE’S HOPING TO RECEIVE:
"I want to get Clemson because that has always been my dream. It’s my dream school. I also want to get South Carolina."
ON HIS TRIP TO CLEMSON’S CAMP:
"I went up there and talked to them after the camp. They just told me that they would stay in contact because they want to start the process of building a relationship."
ON OTHER SCHOOLS IN THE RUNNING:
"I like Georgia, too. I visited Georgia and liked it. They told me just about everything with me is great, but I have to work on a couple things."
