Take Two returns with a daily offering tackling an issue in the college football landscape. Rivals.com National Recruiting Analyst Adam Gorney lays out the situation and then receives takes from Rivals.com National Recruiting Director Mike Farrell and a local expert from the Rivals.com network of team sites.

THE STORYLINE

Jadon Haselwood was committed to Georgia for a long time but throughout the process the five-star said he would still consider other schools.

Then in recent weeks, the Ellenwood (Ga.) Cedar Grove standout backed off his pledge to the Bulldogs and started to look around at other programs. Miami received a visit and the Hurricanes emerged as a serious contender, maybe tops on his list at this point. Auburn is in the mix. Oklahoma has always been a program that has intrigued him.

And this past weekend, Haselwood took a visit to Florida State. The Seminoles had not been as highly thought of in Haselwood’s recruitment until this point and after a weekend in Tallahassee it looks like FSU could be making a serious surge up his list.

Georgia could receive another trip this weekend and the Bulldogs cannot be counted out, Miami and others have made serious in-roads, but should Florida State be considered a top team now as well?

FIRST TAKE: MICHAEL LANGSTON, WARCHANT.COM

“Florida State made a big move this weekend. Going into the visit, I thought it was going to be Miami or Georgia but I got the impression that Oklahoma and Auburn weren’t really a threat to FSU. The vibe I got was that FSU feels it’s more of a Miami-FSU battle right now. He does still have a visit left to Georgia and that could alter things but Florida State has positioned itself as a major target to pull this off.

“FSU feels they have a strong shot. Wide receivers coach David Kelly is from the Atlanta area and he has close ties with the family so he’s really tied in with this recruitment. Haselwood has been a guy they’ve kind of kept quiet on and to themselves about how hard they’re pushing. This weekend with FSU finally turning the corner and getting a big win, it kind of showed the Haselwood family and Jadon how he could fit in that offense, how he could take them to another level and he felt like he was sold on the vision of what Willie Taggart is talking about. Will they get him, I don’t know, but they’re definitely a team that is very much in his head.”

SECOND TAKE: MIKE FARRELL, RIVALS.COM

“Miami was the program that probably made him think twice and decommit. He was worried about being developed as a pro at Georgia but it’s not like many of these programs are churning out NFL wide receivers left and right.

“Florida State’s offense didn’t look great but the receivers had a pretty good game and they were able to throw the ball downfield for the first time in a while. He was impressed with that. There is early playing time there but there is also early playing time everywhere he goes. I would still say, if I had to guess, if it’s not Georgia, that Miami would still be the school.”
