If he could make his five official visits today, they would be to (his comments follow):
Iowa - "Iowa is recruiting the hardest with the most mail and if I had to make a decision today, it would probably be to Iowa. The coach is sending personal letters, which shows an interest in me."
Florida - "They are my dream school, since I was a child."
Miami - "The atmosphere is speedy and exciting."
Louisiana State - "I just like them."
Texas - "I've visited the campus and I think I'd fit in well there."
Coaches from Texas Christian, Alabama, Florida, Notre Dame, Colorado and Louisiana State have visited his high school so far.
The 5-foot-10, 180 pound speedster recently ran the 40-yard dash in 4.3 seconds, but it was done on concrete at his high school. His official hand-timed 40-yard dash is 4.45 seconds.
Last year as a junior, he rushed for 1,946 yards, while scoring 30 touchdowns and only losing four by fumble.
He threw a touchdown pass on a half-back option and caught four passes for over 100 yards.
As a junior, he was named to the honorable mention list on an all-state team in Texas.
"My vision, speed and good soft hands," he said were his strong points on the football field.
He described himself as "a downhill runner."
"Distance will not be a factor," Turner said, "as I want a big school, so I'm surrounded by people, and good academics, which will show in the academic reputation and graduation rate of athletes."
"I will also look at the coaches' personalities and for a winning tradition."
He plans to attend camp at Florida, Texas Christian, Oklahoma and Iowa.
He wants to major in communications and has set his sports goal as a state championship.
He benches 275 pounds, squats 475 pounds, and he has a 28 inch vertical leap right now.
His core grade point average is right at 2.9 at the present time. He had just returned home from taking his SAT today.
