Tabasky to make tough decisions

Three-star offensive guard Eddie Tabasky is focused hard on a few things – academics, football and his future. So when he has a chance to combine all three it’s a great deal for the 6-foot-3, 330-pounder from Daytona Beach (Fla.) Mainland.
“We have a jamboree (tonight),” he said. “The varsity will play about three quarters. I’m really excited about it and the start of the season.”

When it comes to the academics and his future – Tabasky has a 4.4 grade-point average – he looks like he’ll have a tough decision to make between pursuing an academic institution or playing at another school. He has an offer on the table from North Carolina, but is also getting attention from Florida and Ivy League schools like Harvard, Penn and several others.
“I’ve thought about the Ivy League,” he said. “And I don’t want to rule anybody out. I hope to hear from them when they can call again, plus I’d like to also hear from North Carolina and Florida.”
The list might expand to even more schools if Tabasky has improved as much as he thinks he has this summer.
“I’m stronger than last year,” he said. “I also say I’m a little faster and my technique is improved and I’m a little sharper. I’m overall a lot better, and I can tell.
“I could really tell at the summer camps. I was able to notice my improvement quite a bit. At the Bethune Cookman camp, the coaches were saying they were really impressed with how I was rolling my hips. I was excited about that.”
