Tabannah makes a decision

Oxon Hill (Md.) Potomac cornerback Devonta Tabannah made his selection today. The 5-foot-11, 170-pounder has selected to head to the Mountain West.
"I just came off a visit to New Mexico and I did commit," he said. "New Mexico had everything I could ask for and everything I wanted.

"It was just perfect. It wasn't too easy adjusting two hours behind, but the next day I toured the campus and saw the city and hung out with the players. I felt like I was at home. It even looks like home at night time, the city looks like D.C. It's a real big city and totally opposite of what I thought it would be."
Coach Locksley was key in Tabannah's choice to head to join the Lobos.
"Coach Locksley and my mom go way back," he said. "His demeanor, he's a down-to-earth guy and he knows whatever he wants, he'll do whatever it takes to win. That's what he said about me, he likes my drive and competitiveness to win. He's got coaches on the staff that are NFL coaches and they play big competition. In fact, they play Oregon next year and that's a big game.
"His main word is change, Coach Locksley talks about change and how he's got a vision and I believe in his vision that we can win the Mountain West in the next couple years and play for in the BCS like TCU did."
New Mexico recruited Tabannah as a cornerback.
He also had offers from Western Michigan, Buffalo, Central Michigan, Ohio, Akron, James Madison, Kent State and others.
