Tabannah claims a favorite

Cornerback Devonta Tabannah out of Oxon Hill (Md.) Potomac holds half a dozen scholarships. The 5-foot-11, 170-pounder is getting looks from a variety of other colleges and claims one leads at this time.
"I've got the same six offers from Akron, JMU, Delaware State, Maine, Monmouth and Towson," he said. "I am hearing from North Carolina, Connecticut and Maryland as well.

"North Carolina wants me to come down for an unofficial visit Friday. I plan to go there. Maryland begged me to come to their camp, but I didn't make it. I'm not sure on them. As for Connecticut, they want to see my first couple game highlights."
Tabannah believes four schools could very well pull visits this fall from him.
"I'm looking at North Carolina, Akron, Maryland and West Virginia for officials. Those are my possibilities right now."
Meanwhile, one of those schools sticks out to the two-star prospect.
"I definitely like North Carolina," he said. "I like them the most because of the coaching staff and it seems like they are the most genuine of any school. They love me a lot from the head coach to the players that saw me at camp. I love the atmosphere too."
Tabannah and Potomac open practice on Saturday in preparation for a season opener on September 4th.
