T-Bone wants to be a running back

One of the biggest enigmas so far in the state of Texas has been Arlington, Texas, athlete Tony Anderson.
The 6-foot-2, 210-pound Anderson rushed for 1,478 yards and 13 touchdowns in an always tough district, but some college coaches think he might project better as a pure athlete with the ability to play on the defensive side of the ball at the next level. Anderson doesn’t want to hear that, though. He believes he’s one of the best running backs in Texas, and despite all of the others getting attention, he hopes to prove that he’s not going to fly under the radar screen.

“I think my strong points are my blocking,” he said. “I know a lot of running backs don’t want to block. It’s the little things that help the team win. I’m also a strong runner. I don’t let just one person bring me down.”
And don’t you dare call Anderson, who has a 4.5-second time in the 40-yard dash, slow.
“A lot of people think I’m slow because I’m so big,” he said. “But then I go out there and show them my real speed.”
That real speed has already attracted scholarship offers from Baylor and Colorado State. He’s received calls this month from Notre Dame, Kansas State, Kansas, Utah and UCLA, also. He plans on attending camp at Texas A&M and then also hopes to make it a few other one-day camps throughout the Midlands.
“The perfect school will allow me to play running back,” he said. “I also want to major in business. I want to be a sports agent and I want to have my own fashion line. I’ve been thinking about a lot of designs in my head. I already have the name of the line picked out – T-bone steak.”
For those that are wondering, Anderson’s nickname is T-bone. Anderson is already a full qualifier with a 3.7 grade-point average and a 1040 on the SAT.
