Syvelle Newton makes the call

Bennetsville (S.C.) Marlboro County quarterback Syvelle Newton said the words tonight that some fans have been waiting over a year to hear.
"I'm signing with South Carolina on Wednesday," said the 6-foot-2, 210-pounder after initially donning a Clemson hat in jest at his press conference, covered by local station WPDE-TV 15. "I just feel more comfortable at South Carolina and feel connected to the program."

Newton had offers from more than 30 different programs, but in the end it came down to the two in-state powers.
"I'd like to thank God, my parents, my coach (Dean Boyd) and all the Marlboro fans for their support," he said. "I feel like I made the right choice."
