Syracuse, Pitt recruiting Toran

Monroeville (Pa.) Gateway is often home to some of the top talent in their part of Pennsylvania, and Nolan Toran is one of the most productive players on the squad.
That much can't be debated, as the 5-foot-10, 185-pound prospect led the team in tackles with 82, on top of three sacks. Toran describes himself as a fast and physical player, with a personal best of 4.45 seconds in the 40-yard dash.

Though Toran currently played linebacker for Gateway, it's pretty safe to assume he would be moving to safety in the college ranks.
"I've gotten mail from a lot of colleges," Toran reported on Monday evening. "I'm going to Syracuse's junior day this weekend. I've spoken to coaches from Syracuse and Pitt. They've told me that they really like my film and they would like to continue to develop a relationship and see how it goes.
"I was actually just at Pitt's junior day and it was good. I felt like I kind of knew everything that they had to offer, since it's Pitt, but I was impressed by it and liked it a lot."
Toran said those two schools -- Syracuse and Pitt -- along with Georgia Tech are his favorites.
