Syracuse picks up linebacker prospect

Malcolm Cater is a linebacker prospect from Riverhead, New York. Cater, 6-1 and 210 pounds, committed to Syracuse earlier today. Cater picked the Orangemen over Rutgers, Connecticut, Pittsburgh and others.
"Malcolm committed today," said Riverhead head coach Leif Shay. "It was Syracuse over Rutgers. He just felt Syracuse was taking better care of the New York kids.
"Malcolm is a fantastic player. He's very fast (4.66 forty) and very strong (365 bench press). I mean he can move around and bring the wood."
Last season as a junior Cater finished with over 100 tackles from his linebacker position. He can play either inside or outside 'backer.
