Syracuse picks up commitment No. 1

Louie Addazio, a tight end prospect from Gainesville, Fla., committed just a few moments ago. This rising senior from Buchholz High School is headed north to play for the Syracuse Orangemen.
"I visited Syracuse over the weekend," Addazio said. "I came back this morning and talked things over with my parents and just decided not to waste anymore time. So I committed to Syracuse around five o'clock.

"I called up coach Conley and coach Marrone to let them know. They seemed very excited. I'm excited. I'm excited to be their first commitment to their 2011 recruiting class. It's a tough program that plays with a great attitude. I love the family atmosphere there and they are going to turn that thing around and that is something that I want to be a part of. Syracuse is going to bring in a very strong class and this is all very exciting. I can't wait to get up there. To play at Syracuse has always been a dream of mine."
Addazio, 6-3 and 225 pounds, was also very interested in USF, as the Bulls made a big run at him, especially of late.
"It was a tough decision because I really like USF, especially coach Holtz and coach Scott. But I have to follow my dream and that's to play for Syracuse."
