Syracuse lands commitment

The Syracuse Orangemen received an important commitment this past weekend.
"AJ committed to Syracuse this weekend," said Bealeton (Va.) Liberty head coach Tommy Buzzo regarding star cornerback AJ Brown. "He had offers from Clemson, Indiana, Kentucky and Temple as well, but Syracuse was where he wanted to go."

Brown, who stands 6-foot-1 and weighs 195 pounds, was also being heavily recruited by Maryland, Virginia, Virginia Tech and others. He runs the 40-yard dash in 4.6 seconds and should be a safety at the next level.
"AJ was at the Syracuse prospect day on June 7 and loved it," said Buzzo. "He felt it was a good fit and he was very excited when he returned. Syracuse showed him the most interest and he really felt he could play there as a safety. He had scheduled unofficial visits to Indiana and Kentucky for later this month, but he cancelled them because he had his heart set on Syracuse."
Brown is described by his coach as "a very smart and intelligent young man. He allows us to do things we would never be able to do if we did not have him back there."
