Syracuse in the mix for Georgia DB

Syracuse has made the state of Georgia a priority in the 2016 class and one of the players that Orange coaches have honed in on recently is Tyrone (Ga.) Sandy Creek defensive back Will Harper.
The 'Cuse dispatched running backs coach DeAndre Smith to the Atlanta area to watch Harper's spring game and Harper said meant a lot to him.

"I like Syracuse," Harper said. "They want me to come in early in January, tap me into their defense early. They're recruiting me as a nickel guy, almost as a spin-down, strong safety type."
Harper has several offers, but the Orange represents his most notable to date. He said that when the offer came in early this spring he was thrilled.
"I was very excited," he said. "It wasn't my very first offer, but it was my first ACC and my first big offer, so I was very happy with that."
Smith's trip south to see Harper is just another step in the bond the two have started to develop.
"We have a good relationship," he said. "We talk at least once a week, most of the time twice."
Next on the agenda is a visit to campus, something Harper said he hopes to achieve this month.
"I want to visit Syracuse soon, hopefully in June," he said. "I want to visit UGA, I want to visit Western Kentucky, Northwestern, I want to also visit Louisville - that's about it so far."
