Syracuse impresses LB

Greenbelt (Md.) Eleanor Roosevelt linebacker Derron Thomas has offers from numerous top programs, but two schools stick out the most.
"Right now it's Syracuse and Pitt," said the 6-foot-2, 225-pounder. "Before my trip to Syracuse it was Pitt all the way, but now things have changed. I was at Syracuse for their game against Miami and I loved it."

Thomas, who had 88 tackles in just six games this season, visits Pitt this weekend.
"I'm looking forward to it," he said. "The coaches from both Syracuse and Pitt have been in this week. I like coach Sims from Pitt and coach White from Syracuse -- they're both great guys."
So will he decide after his trip to Pitt?
"No, I don't think so," he said. "I still have Louisville on Dec. 20 and Georgia Tech on Jan. 10. I might take North Carolina after that if I need it."
Does one team stand out right now?
"Honestly, no,"he said. "Syracuse really impressed me."
