Syracuse a player for 3-star Florida WR/TE Jalen Williams
THE LATEST
When Jalen Williams walks onto the football field at 6-foot-7 and more than 200 pounds, it's easy to think he might have gotten lost on his way to the basketball court. Williams has the build of an NBA small forward, and has had his share of fun with hoops in the past. But now, he's a full-time football player and several schools have taken notice of his skills. One of them is Syracuse, which has already hosted Williams and his mother for an unofficial visit to campus. Rivals.com recently caught up with Williams to talk about the Orange and their place in his recruitment.
IN HIS WORDS
"I've been talking to Syracuse and Rutgers a lot."
Syracuse: "I took a visit up there for their junior day. It was nice. I liked it. I got to see the campus and I got to know the coaches and stuff like that."
Overall impressions of Syracuse: "It was cold up there. It was snowing. But I liked it. The campus wasn't too big. It was something that I could manage and find my way around. I will be going back in the future."
Fit in the offense: "They said they'll use me all around. Kind of like a hybrid tight end. I can come out of the backfield, I can come out of the tight end position or they can move me out wide."
Official visit: "I'll be back for an official most definitely."
Rutgers: "Me and the coaches have just been communicating. They've been communicating with me well."
Interest: "They like how I drop hips and get physical with defensive ends. They like how I block, how I release, how I play and just how I manage as a tight end."
Summer visit/camp plans: "The dates are not confirmed yet but in June I’m going to Rutgers and Virginia."
