Sylmar OL Climbing the Charts

Sylmar, Calif., has been one of the most consistent programs in the San Fernando Valley over the past ten years and one of the reasons is they have players like Luis Solis in the program.
Solis is a 6-foot-5 offensive tackle who tips the scales 305 pounds and runs a legit 5.0 40-yard dash. He has extremely long arms and still he benches 310 pounds. Solis lifts 400 pounds in a full squat, so he has outstanding lower body strength, too.

When have the size and quickness of Solis you tend to be very popular with the D-I recruiters and Solis is. He receives at least ten recruiting letters a day.
“Luis is a very smooth athlete who is also very physical and aggressive, but almost every D-I school comments on his quickness for his size,” Sylmar head coach Jeff Engliman said. “He is so athletic and quick we also have him play defensive end and he’s also the starting center on the basketball team.”
Solis has a great frame with massive shoulders. “We had to special order shoulder pads for Luis,” Engliman said. “He that huge.”
“Luis is the anchor on the best offensive line we have had here at Sylmar since we won our last city championship in 1994,” Engliman said.
Solis is very open when comes to school choice. UCLA, USC, ASU, Michigan and Colorado are just a few of the name schools that are contacting Solis…
