The Swilling name and New Orleans football are two things that go hand-in-hand.

Mention the name Patrick Swilling and visions of the Dome Patrol of the early 90's Saints begin to dance around in the mind, and now two younger Swillings are making their own name on the New Orleans football scene.
Tre Swilling and Bruce Jordan-Swilling are turning heads as sophomores at Brother Martin in New Orleans. Tre Swilling is a 6-foot, 185-pound cornerback while Bruce Jordan-Swilling is a 6-foot-2, 215-pound standout at linebacker and running back.
Tre, in his first season of varsity action, has already been tried and tested with match-ups against top receivers Stanley Morgan, Daylon Charlot, Mykel Jones, and Michael Chigbu. He has drawn on his experience growing up at receiver and has been a head turner at the cornerback position.
There are several aspects of the position he enjoys, but the challenge of being one-on-one and staying a step ahead of his opponent really gets his blood pumping.
"Just being able get in front of the receiver not really know what he's doing, but just studying the route combinations and getting better," Tre Swilling said.
The challenge of facing older, more experienced players is also nothing new for the cornerback.
"I'm used to that," Tre Swilling said. "I've always as a kid just played with my brother and his friends and just gone up against them and it gave me the confidence and the physicality to keep up with them and take on the challenge."
Bruce Jordan-Swilling has also embraced the challenge. He was able to get varsity experience as a freshman and it just so happened to be against one of the nation's finest.
"I played outside linebacker against Leonard Fournette. That's the only game I played defense," Bruce Jordan Swilling said. "It was tough but I just had to go out there and play my best. I actually had a forced fumble and a fumble recovery that game."
Now a year older and wiser, he is playing linebacker and running back at Brother Martin and thriving on the field.
"The difference from last year to this year is definitely the experience," Bruce Jordan-Swilling said. "I read my gaps better and things like that."
Through seven games, he has rushed for 719 yards and 13 touchdowns on 48 carries, while sharing time with all-state running back Jared West, and he plays the position with the same intensity he plays linebacker.
When asked to describe his running style, he is quick to answer.
"Straight downhill running," Bruce Jordan-Swilling said. "I like running over people."
The Swilling duo has already begun to attract college attention. They attended Georgia Tech, Louisiana Tech, and Tulane camps during the summer months and attended the Tulane-Georgia Tech game earlier in the 2014 season.
Interest has also come from Florida State, Oklahoma State, USC, Missouri, and Nebraska.
They both grew up USC fans with their favorite player being Reggie Bush, and are also standout players on the AAU basketball circuit for the Swilling Storm where Tre is a shooting guard and Bruce is a power forward/center.
It is safe to say as sophomores in 2014, both are firmly placing their mark on the New Orleans football scene. Tre Swilling has recorded 23 tackles, seven pass breakups, and an interception while only giving up one touchdown reception. Bruce Jordan-Swilling has recorded 42 tackles, three forced fumbles, three sacks, three pass breaks-ups and one interception which he returned for a touchdown.
