Sweat ready for official visits

Instead of directing all of his efforts towards sorting out his recruitment, five-star Josh Sweat has been focused on recovering from a devastating knee injury. The 6-foot-5, 236-pound defensive end from Chesapeake (Va.) Oscar Smith is about three weeks out from his surgery and seems to be ahead of schedule already.
Sweat recently made the trip back to New York, where he had his surgery done, for a check up. His doctor gave him the "OK" to starting weaning off of his crutches and working towards walking normally. Sweat's camp is hopeful he will be walking normally in about three weeks. He was also given a smaller knee brace that he can wear instead of the larger one he has been confined to for weeks. Sweat, an absolute terror on the field, is expected to make a full recovering and there is hope that he will be able to fully participate in practice in July or August of his freshman year.

When Sweat initially injured his knee, his recruitment was put on hold. Official visits to Georgia, Florida State and Virginia Tech were rescheduled and he remains on track to follow through on these visits. Sweat has already taken an official visit to Ohio State and Georgia will get their chance with him next weekend for the Auburn game. Sweat will be in Tallahassee for the Boston College and then head to Virginia Tech for their rivalry game against Virginia.
Sweat, an early enrollee, is expected to commit on or near December 5 so that there is enough time for his paperwork to be processed. This makes it increasingly unlikely that Sweat will take a fifth official visit. Oregon was supposed to get that last official visit but the timing combined with travelling out to Eugene may prove too difficult.
As an Under Armour All-American, Sweat will be in to Orlando to participate in the festivities during the last week of December.
