Svetina heading to the MAC

Brunswick (Ohio) St. Ignatius linebacker Mike Svetina camped at several schools in the region and beyond this summer before deciding that he knows where he wants to be.
Svetina hit camps at Ohio State, Cincinnati, Boston College and Northwestern earlier this summer, and this week he told Rivals.com that he felt best about his performance at Northwestern.

Rather than wait around and let the process drag on for an unknown amount of time, however, Svetina decided to go ahead and make a commitment.
"I'm committed to Miami-OH," Svetina said. "I just thought it would be the best fit for me. I think it was probably last Monday when I (committed).
"I went down there in the spring and I just like the education they offer. Obviously that's first and foremost. All their programs are really good there. I just like the campus a lot. It's one of the most beautiful campuses I've seen. I just felt like it was the right place for me."
Miami-OH has recruited the 6-foot-2, 220-pound prospect as a linebacker.
Last fall at St. Ignatius he registered 163 tackles (92 solo), three interceptions, two forced fumbles and a blocked punt.
