Surrell is one of the Calis finest

One of the state's top wide outs the past two seasons has been Stockton (Calif.) St. Mary's standout Gerome Surrell. The talented pass catcher has one offer, one on the way and a solid top five right now.
Surrell, 5-10, 180 pounds is a two time all-state underclass selection earning honorable mention honors this past season. Surrell caught 41 balls for 827 yards and seven touchdowns last season and is one of the most explosive players in the state.

The receiver clocked a 4.62-40 at the NorCal NIKE Camp a year ago and has also run a 4.50 in the 40 at an earlier NIKE Combine. Surrell shows up well on film showing off good hands and runs very well after the catch.
On the recruiting front, Surrell is hearing from schools all over the West and has one early offer.
"UNLV has offered me and Boise State is close to offering as well," Surrell said. "I'm also hearing from the whole Pac 10 and I would really like the opportunity to play in the Pac 10 if possible.
"My top five schools right now are all Pac 10 schools- Cal, UCLA, Washington, Oregon and Arizona. I'm going camp with UCLA and will also attend Cal's one day camp.
"Right now, my plan is to take all my trips before making a decision but if one of my favorite schools offers me, then I will probably commit. The main things I'm looking for in a school are great academics, the size of the school, a strong football program and a safe environment."
Surrell will be in attendance at the NorCal NIKE camp at Stanford in two weeks.
