Surratt returns from Southern Miss

One of the top fullbacks in the Sunshine state took an official visit to Southern Miss over the weekend. What type of impression did it leave on him?
"I had a nice time over there," said Joe Surratt. "I got to see the football facilities and was really impressed with how their football program is doing. The coaches are all good guys and the players seem close to one another. It looks like I could go in and compete for some early playing time, so that's something else I'll have to consider."

The 6-foot-1, 255-pound fullback from Pace, Florida runs the 40-yard dash in 4.7 seconds and has offers from schools like Florida State, Auburn and Clemson in addition to Southern Miss.
"I've had coaches from Southern Miss come by my house recently for in-home visits," he said. "Some coaches from Florida State and Clemson have come by too. I'm sure there will be more in the next few weeks. I can tell that things are starting to heat up."
Surratt has visits in the near future to Florida State (Jan. 9), South Florida (Jan. 16), Clemson (Jan. 23) and Auburn (Jan. 30).
"I'd like to wait until after all my visits to make my decision. It's just about dead even between those five at this point, so I'll need to see all the schools before I eliminate anyone or choose a school."
