Surprising two at the top for Moya

El Dorado (Calif.) Oak Ridge tight end Ryan Moya has finished his official visits and is just a few weeks away from making a decision. Two schools stand out right now including one that wasn’t a surprise and another that did catch us a little off guard.
Moya, 6-2, 230 pounds has taken official visits to Boise State, UCLA, Oregon and Cal. The school we always felt had the best shot to land Moya was Cal seeing how the tight end is a NorCal guy and the Bears are really rolling on the field right now. Cal is still very much in it but are currently not in Moya’s top two.

“After taking all my visits, the two schools that I felt the most comfortable at and I’m leaning to right now are UCLA and Boise State,” Moya said. “Oregon and Cal both dropped a little after the visits. They’re still in it and I still have a lot of thinking to do with my family but UCLA and Boise State are on top right now and both will be coming in this week for home visits.
“Right now, I’m trying to really focus on our season, we’re playing in our section championship this weekend. Once our season is over, that’s when I’ll sit down with my family and really get serious. I’ll get the grease board out and do the pros and cons of each school and talk things over with my parents. Once I do that, I should have a better handle of where I’m going and hopefully I’ll be ready to make my decision in a couple of weeks.”
After missing half of his season with a shoulder injury, Moya has been on fire during the playoffs. In a quarterfinal game, the athlete caught four balls for 88 yards and three touchdowns in the first half before sitting out the second half. In last weekend’s semi-final win, Moya caught eight balls for 104 yards one touchdown plus two two-point conversions.
