Surprise UMD visit for Prince

Much like its 2014 class, the most important recruit for Maryland in the 2015 class is an offensive lineman with the last name of "Prince." Greenbelt (Md.) Eleanor Roosevelt Rivals100 offensive lineman Isaiah Prince has visited his hometown school more than any other school and is getting acclimated to possibly being in College Park for the next three or four years.
"I was at Maryland last weekend just to chill," said the 6-foot-6, 270-pound Prince. "It was the weekend when they played away. I was with one of my former teammates that play for Maryland. I'm comfortable here. I know most of the players around here. I'm comfortable with coach Locksley. It's close to home and I'm 10 minutes from my high school coach that I'm really close with. He's helped me out with a lot of things and has impacted my life. As far as being on campus at Maryland, I'm really comfortable."

Prince will be on campus again in College Park for the Michigan State game this coming weekend.
"Things have been going well with Maryland," he said. "I just spoke to coach Locksley the other day. He was still telling me about staying home and making a change at Maryland. We talked about me going to the Michigan State game. We have a very strong relationship. Coach Locksley and I talk about anything from school to what's going on at home or girls or anything. I'm not taking an official visit to Maryland. It's way too close to home to do that. I'd rather use my official visits to go to schools that are far away that are harder to get to. I literally live down the street from Maryland."
Many people see Alabama as Prince's other major contender.
"I'm taking my official visit to Alabama on January 16," Prince said. "I've been talking to coach Cristobal on Twitter but not really on the phone. I'm supposed to call him. I've been really busy with my senior season. I've been watching some of their games. I saw them and LSU play. I think their offensive line did a really good job. I'll work to the best of my ability to play as a freshman but if the coaches don't think I'm ready, it is what it is.
"I spoke to most of the players when I was there," he said. "I went out to eat with some of them. They were really cool. Most of them are from the DMV area. I think the left guard is my coach's cousin."
Two other schools are very much in the picture for Prince.
"Florida and Ohio State are definitely in there," said Prince. "I have a really good relationship with coach Johnson and coach Warinner. That was a big win by Ohio State (over Michigan State). I didn't get to watch the game because I was watching the Alabama/LSU game.
"I also have a good relationship with coach Summers and coach Muschamp," he said. "I've been playing attention them. Florida has been doing really well though. Coach Muschamp is a great coach but there have been some unfortunate situations."
Eleanor Roosevelt (10-0) starts their playoff run this weekend against District Heights (Md.) Suitland.
