Surprise offer for Rockwall Heath RB

The recruiting game can be hard to figure out at times and it also can catch you by surprise. On Monday, it caught Rockwall (Texas) Heath running back Kendial Lawrence by surprise. The 5-foot-9 177-pound back picked up his third offer on Monday from an unexpected school.
"Arizona offered me today," Lawrence said on Monday evening. "I got the letter in the mail from school. I didn't even know it was coming. Those were the first words I had heard from them."

The surprise offer wasn't the first offer that came out of the blue.
"That's how it was with Kansas," he said. "Then after that I we just started talking."
Lawrence had planned on updating his Rivals.com profile with a fresh list of schools that he was interested in and despite the limited communication with Arizona, the Wildcats coincidentally almost made the cut.
"I don't really know much about them but I was thinking of a school I would like to go to and they came up and I just thought it would be a pretty cool school to go to."
The Arizona offer is Lawrence's third along with the Kansas offer and one from Buffalo. He hopes to spend the summer narrowing down his list.
"I want to make a top ten or whatever," he said. "I'm just going to narrow it down and whatever colleges are there I'm going to go to their camps or go visit if they've already offered."
Lawrence already has a rough idea of where he may be heading this summer.
"I know I'm going to go up to Kansas," he said. "I guess Arizona now, Georgia Tech, Iowa State and I'm thinking Oregon. I've been talking to the coach from Iowa State a lot and the coach from Georgia Tech."
Lawrence, who rushed for over 1,700 yards as a junior, should see his offer list continue to increase over the summer.
