Surprise commitment for Cuse

The Syracuse Orangemen reeled in a top-flight cornerback today, just weeks after apparently being out of the picture.
Tallahassee (Fla.) Godby cornerback Marcus Clayton, one of the state of Florida's top players, committed to Syracuse on Sunday.

"Marcus has the flu and is sleeping now, but he's very happy that he's going to Syracuse," said his grandmother, Margaret Evers. "He committed to them today. I guess he was also interested in Louisville and Iowa, but when Syracuse started calling again it all changed."
As recently as last week, Clayton said he'd choose between the Cardinals and Hawkeyes, but Syracuse pushed back in the mix after a recent de-commitment. Clayton hasn't visited Syracuse yet, but should do so very soon. He is expected to sign with the Orangemen on Wednesday according to his grandmother.
Clayton was one of the top names coming out of Florida as a junior.
