The No. 7 safety in the country now has his top four schools with five others fighting it out for the fifth spot.
Ira Guilford of Hoboken, N.J. has Ohio State, Michigan State, Penn State and Syracuse on his leader board. The five other schools that might get an official visit are Rutgers, Boston College, Notre Dame, Indiana and Maryland.
"I'm certain about my top four schools. I plan on trying to set up visits with them very soon. The fifth one will be a tough choice, I'm still not sure who it will be."
The 5-foot-11, 190-pound hard-hitting safety will be going to Penn State on Saturday, Sept. 14 to watch the Lions take on Nebraska but he's not sure if he will make it an official visit or not.
"For now it will be an unofficial visit. I still need to talk with my parents about that, but I should know very soon. I plan on starting to set up visits in the very near future."
Since the phone lines re-opened to college recruiters on Sept. 1, Ira has been very busy talking with coaches.
"It's been a little crazy. I was out on Sunday and when I came home I had 10 messages from 10 different coaches. I had calls from Ohio State, Michigan State, BC, Penn State, Duke, Syracuse, Notre Dame, Indiana and others."
