Sunshine State WR likes Florida, Georgia and Ohio State

MIAMI — It was a loaded group at wide receiver at the Miami Rivals 3-stripe camp presented by adidas and Jahvante Royal showed he was among the best.

The 6-foot-3, 180 pounder is in the 2020 class and the star out of Hollywood (Fla.) McArthur reported he holds around a dozen offers.

He said three schools are currently standing out to him.

"I like Ohio State, Georgia and Florida right now," said Royal. "All three have offered me, they are showing me attention and they are all great schools."

The Buckeyes and Bulldogs love to take talent out of the Sunshine State, but Dan Mullen hopes to keep guys like Royal at home in Gainesville.

"I have already talked to a two or three of the new coaches at Florida and they seem cool," said Royal. "I like how the new coaches came through the school right away and how they have taken their time to get to know me already. That showed me they are really interested in me.

"I have been up to Florida before for a camp and I like it up there. The new coaches want me to come back up there, so I plan to."

Urban Meyer was once the coach at Florida, where he won two national titles. That, combined with what he has done at Ohio State has Royal's attention.

"It is just the program at Ohio State. It is a great program, they win a lot and they win championships. I have watched them on T.V. and they have great players and they play great football."

Georgia had a great 2017 season where they fell in overtime to Alabama in the national championship game. Royal saw that and he sees Georgia being strong in the future.

"Georgia just played for the national championship and it is a school on the rise," said Royal. "I was up there in the summer for camp and I liked it a lot. I want to get back up there to see the school and to be around the coaches. It is a school I really like."

The school the talented sophomore has liked since he was a kid is one that is right down the road from his home. Mark Richt has the Hurricanes back in the mix in the ACC and Royals wants that offer.

"Miami was the dream school for me and if they offered me, they might move to the top of my list. I have always liked The U. I am a south Florida guy that likes what they have done and it is a school I hope offers me."

Royal is a long, glider at the receiver position. He has the frame schools look for at his position and he is going to add offers and become a hot name in the future.
