Sun Devils Rumored Landing WR

The word on the street is Arizona State got a whole lot better with the verbal committal wide receiver/defensive back Nate Kimbrough (6-3, 175, 4.5) from Santa Fe Springs (Calif.) Santa Fe. Kimbrough was just selected Camp MVP at the prestigious Beyond 2000 Elite football camp that concluded yesterday (Sunday June 29).
Kimbrough was dominating throughout the camp. “Nate isn’t afraid to mix it up,” Beyond 2000 Elite facilitator Henry Bell said. “He is without question the real deal.”

Rivals were also in attendance and were able to see Kimbrough up close. He is a physical Terrell Owens type of wide receiver. Kimbrough is the complete package of the modern prototypical wide receiver.
Kimbrough has that long running stride that makes his speed look very deceiving. Once he gets into space he runs by opponents as it they were standing still. He has great instincts as a runner and is terrific after the catch. He’s great open field runner who follows his blocks and gets up field.
Kimbrough is an outstanding all-around athlete and has the talent to play on either side of the ball on the level. He is equally as good on both sides of the ball and he is participates in track and runs the very tough 400-meter.
Though we haven’t confirmed the commitment from Kimbrough himself we have two sources that say Kimbrough to ASU is a done deal.
Kimbrough was first-team all-league on both sides of the ball as a wide receiver/free safety as a junior. He was dominating on both sides of the ball.
On offense, Kimbrough had 43 receptions for 772 yards while averaging 18 yards per catch and scored eight touchdowns.
On defense Kimbrough tallied 34 tackles and picked off eight passes as a free safety.
Kimbrough will also be able to help the Sun Devils as a very special, special teams player. He returned 12 punts for 192 yards for an average of 16 yards per punt return and one touchdown. Kimbrough returned 15 kickoffs for 295 yards while averaging 19.6 yards per kickoff.
Kimbrough was being heavily recruited by all the Pac10 schools and at one time many thought that USC was the team to beat. But if our sources are correct Kimbrough is Tempe bound.
UCLA, Cal, Oregon State, Oregon, Washington and Colorado were also recruiting Kimbrough.
Kimbrough is also very talented off the field. He plans to major in music. He as versatile musician as he is a football player, Kimbrough plays keyboards, drums and the trombone. There is no truth to the rumor that Kimbrough is the halftime entertainment for Santa Fe’s games.
In an earlier interview with Rivals.com Santa Fe assistant coach Bob Costa said this about his star athlete, “Nate is serious about working hard. He’s pleasure to coach. Nate is only going to get better.”
As soon as Rivals can we will confirm this commitment. The sources are strong and sounds like ASU got a whole lot better…
