Sun Devils land three-star QB

Joshua Dobbs found everything he wanted in athletics and academics at Arizona State and a couple weeks after taking an unofficial visit to Tempe the Alpharetta, Ga., quarterback has made his commitment.
It has been a big day for the Sun Devils since they also landed the pledge of Lakeside (Ariz.) Blue Ridge linebacker Chans Cox, the state's top-rated player by Rivals.com.

Dobbs is also a big-time commitment since he's had an outstanding spring and has seen his recruitment take off.
The Georgia quarterback also had offers from Arkansas, Boston College, Duke, Illinois, Maryland, Mississippi State, South Florida, Southern Miss, Syracuse, TCU, UCF, Wake Forest and many others.
He found everything he was looking for at Arizona State.
"From the academic side they were a school that had the major I wanted in aeronautical engineering and of course with the honors college, a chance to participate and to be in that environment it was really something important," Dobbs said.
"Athletically, all the things they're doing with their football program helped my decision. I got a chance to sit down with coach (Todd) Graham and coach (Mike) Norvell and I'm really excited about being a Sun Devil and the future of the program."
The new coaching staff at Arizona State played a significant factor for Dobbs, who threw for 3,113 passing yards with 29 touchdowns and 16 interceptions in his junior season.
Sitting down and getting a good feel for the coaches helped Dobbs make his decision especially since Arizona State is so far from home.
"It was just the opportunity to get down there and not just talk football with them but also to get a chance to be around them and get to know their personalities and get to know them as people," Dobbs said. "That really stood out to me."
