Summers talks favorites

OLIVE BRANCH, Miss. - Though he is playing out of position, its no secret that Anthony Summers is going to be a special player once he gets to the college level. He plays quarterback in high school, but a move to safety is on the horizon.
"I'm generally being recruited as a safety," Summers said. "I am fine with that. I think my experience playing quarterback on the high school level will help me at safety on the college level. It helps you to know how quarterbacks think and I think I will be able to get inside their heads at times."

The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Summers is a true dual threat at quarterback. Last season he rushed for and passed for 15 touchdowns.
"I would have to say that the list of schools that I'm looking at are still the same," Summers said. "Ole Miss, Nebraska, Auburn, Florida and Tennessee are the ones that are up there right now. Right now I plan to take all of my official visits after the season. I am trying to focus on the season because we want to get a ring this year."
Summers broke down each of his top five for Rivals.com on Friday afternoon after an inter-squad scrimmage.
"I love Ole Miss and all, but I am trying to get out of the state," Summers said. "I do like coach Orgeron a lot because he is real high energy and is a real cool guy. I haven't watched Auburn that much, but any team that can go 13-0 in the SEC is worth looking at. Nebraska is a real defensive minded place and they are all real hard nosed players up there.
I think Florida is sort of an offensive minded team, but I want to go down there and turn that image around. I think if me, Allen and Markeith went there, Gainesville would never be the same. Tennessee is real cool, but they are not recruiting me as hard as the others right now so I want to find out more about it."
