Lexington, S.C. running back Demetrius Summers has some impressive offers, but doesn’t want to go too far away from home.
“I have offers from Clemson, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Nebraska, Southern Cal, Michigan State and some others,” said the 6-foot-2, 215-pound bruiser. “I don’t want to go too far away so I’m really looking at Clemson and South Carolina along with Tennessee and North Carolina. I also like Miami, Florida and Florida State.”
Summers, who rushed for 2,329 yards and an amazing 39 touchdowns as a junior, isn’t sure when his decision will come. If he were to decide today, it wouldn’t be an easy decision.
“I don’t think I could decide,” he said. “You could say I like South Carolina a little better than the rest right now because I’m really comfortable with the coaches and it’s close, but I’d like to see some other places. I’ve already visited Clemson and USC.”
Summers won’t make any camps this summer due to basketball commitments. He’s a standout in both hoops and football, but his future is on the gridiron. For now he’s concentrating on academics and working out.
