Stud MD tailback takes a visit

Baltimore (Md.) Dunbar running back Tavon Austin is stacking up offers. The 5-foot-9, 156-pounder is over a half dozen scholarships, his latest coming from the Big East and Big Ten.
"I just got offers from West Virginia and Illinois," he said. "I'm up eight or nine offers.

"I got the West Virginia one this weekend when I went up there for junior day. I liked it. They looked good in practice and showed us around. It left a good impression of their school.
"They still are going to run the three back set and would line me up in the slot sometimes. I think that's the type of offense that could really get the ball in my hands and make people miss."
West Virginia isn't the only visit for the Maryland star.
"I'm probably going to Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia and Penn State for spring games."
Austin confirmed there still is no favorite, but mentioned what he wants in a school.
"Really, I'm looking for a good education in case I don't make it to the next level," he said. "Then, I'm looking to see what college is telling me the truth. Is it about my athletic ability or do they really care about me? If I get hurt, do they still want me to come to their school? I'd also like a school in the region within three or four hours."
