Strum is excited to join Ohio

Frank Solich and Ohio University added another commitment in Murrysville (Pa.) Franklin Regional offensive tackle A.J. Strum. The 6-foot-5, 291-pounder selected Ohio after a visit to Athens over the weekend.
"I wanted to originally commit to Ohio at least three weeks ago, but my parents and coaches talked to me and thought I should send out more tape and wait," he said. "I did already take a visit up to Ohio in late June and really liked it and I especially liked coach Lightner instantly.

"Then I went to a game this past weekend when they played against Western Michigan and I really liked the atmosphere and was able to talk to coach Solich. I liked the family atmosphere there and realized this is where I want to go. On the three and a half hour car ride home, I talked with my parents and they told me to call the coaches and inform them of my commitment."
Strum was excited to finally get the decision behind him.
"I called coach Germano and he told me congratulations and was very happy for me," he said. "He told me that he was going to be calling coach Lightner and I could tell they were all very excited."
For the two-star prospect, it came down to the coaches that pushed him over the edge.
"Coach Germano is a real down to earth person and is a great guy," he said. "He didn't lie to me like a lot of other recruiters do and he was himself around me and I liked that.
"I also liked Frank Solich. I talked to him for about 45 minutes a couple weeks ago and he's the type of guy I really get along with."
