Stross lands Big Ten offer

Wide receiver Trey Stross had an outstanding junior season as he played a key part in Avon Lake winning the Ohio Division II state championship with 15 straight victories.
The 6-foot-3 and 195 pound Stross caught 29 passes, averaged 27 yards per catch, and scored nine times on offense. He also started at free safety and intercepted two passes and scored on both.

Stross is also a track standout. He long jumps, high jumps, and has run a 21.9 200 meters. Stross has a 2.8 GPA.
"I've been in touch with coach (Mel) Tucker from Ohio State," Stross said. "Then there's Maryland and Tennessee. And Oklahoma's been e-mailing."
"And I grew up watching Penn State. Iowa is another one I like. I would like to stay in the Big Ten."
"I visited Ohio State, Penn State, Cincinnati, and Kentucky. In May I go to Maryland and Boston College."
"Iowa offered. In May Maryland and Boston College are coming out. They said they might offer then. Ohio State said I'm one of the wide receivers they are considering."
